My Background

I am a highly experienced occupational therapist with over 32 years in the profession. For the majority of my career, I worked within the NHS, specialising for over 30 years in supporting individuals with learning disabilities.

Over the past eight years, I have also worked independently, and I am now primarily practicing as an independent occupational therapist. This allows me to offer flexible, personalised support to individuals, families, and services across a range of settings, while continuing to draw on the depth of experience gained from my career.

 I have worked alongside:

  • Psychiatry, Speech and Language Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Physiotherapists, and Learning Disability Nurses, gaining insight into their roles and how to collaborate effectively to support individuals’ needs.

  • Local Authorities (LA).

  • NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).

  • Education teams, care providers, and voluntary organisations.

I’m experienced in multi-agency collaboration and clear care needs assessment. I work closely with professionals to make appropriate referrals, ensuring the right support. I’m also knowledgeable in the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS process.

I’ve worked in a wide variety of environments, including:

  • Mainstream and special schools.

  • Day services and healthcare settings.

  • Residential care and supported living.

  • Family homes and community settings.

I've been based in Gloucestershire for the past 28 years. My children are now adults, and I’m proud to be a grandparent. Over the years I have shared my home with a collection of much-loved pets. Prior to settling here, I worked in Chester and Bristol.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and am a full member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, through which I hold professional indemnity insurance. I also hold an up to date Enhanced DBS check.
